easy like sunday morning

I did not enjoy dating. It was awkward. It was confusing.

I want to be friends and he wants more.
He wants to be friends and I want more.

Yuck.

You know what I loved? Dating Will. It was different than any other relationship I had ever been in.

It was easy. Comfortable.

Being married to him is just as easy. He knows what I need.

Like that I needed to get in the car and drive today and just be together. Like that I needed to soak in the tub for an hour without being interrupted.
Like that I needed a back rub before bed last night.
Like I need to be a little crazy and unreasonable from time to time.

I love him and it gets a little stronger every day.

28.

Yeah.  Thats how many years young I am.
I really have mixed emotions about this.  Being 28.
But that is a can of worms best left closed...at least for now.

Right now I want to bask in my birthday glory.

Cure for the winter blues

Summer Dream.
Bare shoulders,
hot sun,
sticky heat,
the quiet of early morning fishing,
the noise of the jet ski and boat,
camping,
watermelon and
tan lines.

These are the things that I dream about to get me through winter. I miss Texas summers. My family spends lots of time camping at the lake and I CAN'T WAIT for this summer!

These are a few photos from my last summer in Texas...

Dream on! Winter can't last forever!

What I learned from reading Real Simple

I used to LOVE magazines.  Lots of them.
Now I love two.  People and Real Simple. OK...the occasional US Weekly depending on the cover.
Anyway, I love the "The Simple List" Your monthly dose of useful tidbits, timely trivia, and catchy conversation starters.

This is usually the first "reading" page in the magazine past the first 10-12 pages of advertisements.
I always learn something interesting and so I thought I would share...

9
"The number of words Alexander Graham Bell said during the world's first telephone call."
Do you know what he said??
I am sure that once upon a time I knew but have long since forgotten.
"Mr. Watson, come here. I want to see you."
Yep. That's it.
That was in 1876.  In 1984 the first cell phone was introduced.
Any guesses on how much that 2 pound monster would set a person back??
$3,995.
Yeah. And people bought it.

OK. That's all for now! I will check back throughout the month with more from The Simple List!

I hope you are all having a great week...too early to tell, I know!

I obsess

If you know me then you know that I lack patience and that I can be a bit obsessive.  I am kinda what one may call a, er, um...brat.
What do I want? A baby.
What don't I have...you guessed it.
This is the main reason why I haven't blogged.
Its kinda all I think about.  It doesn't really make for fun reading.
No one likes a complainer.
Anyway...
I just knew that after the surgery I would get pregnant right away.  My Doctor was SO positive that we were going to be "parents to be" in no time. Almost 4 months and nothing but problems.

I have been a little depressed lately.  I don't use this word lightly.  Its not a word I throw around when I have had a bad day.  I have been seriously sad over this "not getting pregnant" thing.  Every month I get a little lower.  I hate being this way. This is so not me. I am a happy person. I am fun and people used to enjoy my company.  Now...well I am pretty sure that Will is only person that enjoys my company or rather tolerates my presence.

Anyway, we also just found out that the OB GYN that I have been seeing for 2 years is not in my network.  We will be paying for a significant portion of the surgery. Yay.
So now I am doctorless and lost.  We were supossed to be starting a new treatment plan this cycle but now I guess I have to start over with a new OB GYN but I am moving in 150 days (oh yeah...the count down has begun)! I just want to stay in my apartment until we move and start this all over then.

Ok there it is. This is what is on my mind.

I am super excited about the move but this other mess is dragging me down.  I do not like it.

THE END

Marching Orders

So...
It is almost transfer season for the Coast Guard.
We have waited and waited and, oh yeah, we waited some more.
Our new orders have finally come...
We will be packing up and moving back down to TEXAS this July!
I honestly can't believe that our time here is up.  Well, in our current situation (buried under 100 feet of snow) I would move tomorrow.  Seriously, I can't believe that is has almost been 3 years!
We have had such an AMAZING time here and have made some amazing friendships.
There is this one friend that I honestly don't know how I will live without and many more that will have a place in my heart (and in our spare bedroom...should they choose to visit) forever.

Boston will always be special to us.  It is where the "married" chapter of our lives began.
We traveled all over New England and have seen some pretty awesome things.

Please know that this is the first of many sappy "Boston, We will miss you" posts...now that I am writing again. I am thinking that I will share a photo a week of something that we love about this place!

I have SO much to write about since I went on my unannounced sabbatical...I am even going to talk about why I stopped writing (because I know that you are all dying to find out ;-)

More posts to come!!

10.11.2010

Well, its 1:00 AM and I don't think that Will would really appreciate me attempting to get a picture right this second but rest assured that we are happy and together!
I honestly love him more everyday.  Even at the end of a "not so perfect" day.  I am blessed to have him in my life.  He has forever changed me.  There really are no words.

Happy Anniversary.
Two down and eternity to go.

Taking a leap...

So. I have gained a lot of weight.
I don't really like to talk about it but its kinda the elephant in my life...so I gotta talk about it.
I've done it all.
Tried everything short of starving and barfing. {Pardon My gross-ness}
I have lost and gained and now I'm just gaining...
I get it. I finally get what its gonna take. I finally know what to do.
I am finally ready.
Ready for the changes that must be made.

I'm on the long hard road a better body and a healthier life. It won't be easy but I'm more committed than I have ever been. I also, have some beautiful friends helping me. You know who you are. Thank you. My state of mind is different now too. My focus is more on being healthy as opposed to being "skinny". I could live off celery and workout everyday and I will never be what the "world" considers skinny. I can reach and maintain a weight that is healthy for me through eating healthier and exercising.

I have have leaned so much since I started this journey. From my doctor and from my friends. Some things I have always known (like that sugar is the devil) but so much that I didn't.

So...I decided to create a new space in blogland to record my journey. I want to share my experience. I want feedback from others that have been on this same path. I want to be held accountable. Just from hitting publish on the first post I felt an enormous amount of responsibility.  I really think that it is the push I need to keep going!
So...if you are interested click here.  Let me know what you think!  If you have something that you have leaned...something that works for you, I would LOVE to have you guest post.  Please email me at lovemechubby@gmail.com

Love It With Me Wednesday: You People

You know who I love...
You guys.
I started this little blog to journal and post pictures for family (who never read this blog) and now I am lucky enough to call so many of you friends.
I joined twitter for the purpose of stalking celebrities...I ended up tossing most of my celebs for more bloggy friends!
As I have mentioned before, some of you I have known forever, some just a short while.
I have seen some of your beautiful faces in person and some I haven't...yet.
I do love you all.  In different ways.  For different reasons.
You all bring something different to the table.  I love that.
Some of you are liberal, some conservative and some don't care...I love that too.
I think you get me.  I love you. Really.

Thank you for being you and supporting me while I find out who me really is.

Also...for more Love It With Me, visit one my favorite bloggy besties, Lauren! She is away and was brave enough to let some of us take over her blog.  I dished on what I have learned about being married! Check it out and let me know your thoughts on marriage...even if you aren't married!

Make my Monday

Most of you know that I am fairly easily entertained.  It doesn't take much to get me to laugh or to improve my mood.  Now, getting me to swoon is another story all together.  I have a little treat for all of you...

I follow Ian Somerhalder (aka: Boone from Lost and tasty Damon from The Vampire Diaries) on the Twitter.
Tonight he tweeted the following:

I couldn't stop myself.  I clicked the link and was happy to find:

Apparently, this website is having a "which make-out is hotter" contest!

They also posted a video clip...

I vote Ian and Nina.  Hands.  Down.

What do you think?? Vote in the comments!!

Sunday Funny 3

I have been a blog failure. I am sorry.  I'd love to say that I will do better...that would be a lie. We have been so so busy and it doesn't look like that is going to stop anytime soon.  Love me through it.

Are you ready for the funny??

{Driving home from a lovely weekend in Vermont}

Will: What's for dinner? {We just had lunch...we are always thinking of the next meal}
Me: Well...there is lots of produce that needs to get used before we go on vacay. {I proceed to list the things that I can cook without going to the store}
Will: We haven't had the mushroom and leek soup in while.
Me: We don't have leeks but if that is what you want we can stop at Trader Joe's. {knowing that he wouldn't stop...Trader Joe's is on the other side of the hwy and Will hates backtracking}
Will: No...thats cool.  {Like I said} Maybe when we get home?  It will be colder then.  Perfect soup weather.
Me: Sure thing babe! {I'm so accommodating}
Will: I really love that soup.  Its like 100% guaranteed to be a hit...its like the one thing that is always good.
Me: So...everything else that I cook isn't always a hit? hmmm everything isn't always good???
Will: Um. Well. I...{this goes on for a good 60-90 seconds}
Me: Well?
Will: Need a moment? Grab a Twix?
Me: Laughing and snorting...

Love him.  I really love him.
