Today was a big day for us!! We have been talking about buying a new car for awhile now. My poor little Honda needs some work and Will's car is so small. We wanted something a little bigger and good in the snow! We had decided just to fix my car and wait awhile before we made such a big purchase. Well, the repair bill for my car kept getting higher....we kept discovering more things that it needed. This week we sat down to talk things over and decided that we had to make a choice, fix it or trade it. We decided to trade!!! The market is actually good for buying if you can get a decent interest rate. Ford is giving lots of rebates right now so we found that we could do better buying new as opposed to used. We decided on the Ford Edge. Its a really great car! We did our homework and found out that buying a new 2008 would be lots cheaper than a 2009 and we could afford to add in a few of the extras that we wanted! My credit union came though with the financing and a great interest rate, so we were ready to start shopping!! Surprisingly Will let me handle the entire sale. I know a lot about cars and my Dad taught me a lot about car buying. It was kinda fun. The guy kept trying to win me over by saying that he was from Texas and how honest he was and he was there to help us get into a car!! Finally, in the most polite way possible, I explained to him that I had purchased a vehicle before and that he didn't need to "lay it on" quite so thick. I explained to him that I knew that he was there to make a sale and would say whatever was necessary. I told him that we were buying a car not an act...so lets talk about the car! Things went really smooth once the air was clear. He was able to find exactly what we were looking for! And the price was right so we should be in our new car no later than Wednesday!!! Buying a car together felt good. We acted like grown-ups today...it was kinda fun!

House Party!!!
Well, after along week there's nothing better than having a good time with friends!! There are a few young couples that we have become close to. We all live in the same apartment complex so it makes it easy to get together. We had everyone over for X-Box and Wii!!
Everyone showed off their inner musician in Rock Band!! That's Cher on guitar and Marissa on the drums!! I also got some footage of the fans...Mike, Ryan, Meagan, and the little guy is Jase!!The rocking went on for hours!! It was tons of fun to relax and enjoy the company of friends! We laughed and laughed...It felt great. I still miss home so much but, having good people to spend time with makes a big difference.
Boys playing Wii Tennis!!
Things got even more interesting at this point....the boys were playing, the girls were chatting, and the kiddos were sleeping. Ryan and Meagan live down below us so they put Jace down for the night and brought the monitor to our apartment. Katie, John and Marissa's little one, was fast asleep on our bed.
Seems uneventful, right? Well, in the midst of our party, we begin to hear noise coming through the baby monitor! Loud music and voices! The girls went down to investigate. We knew it was safe for us to go because we had already discovered that the noise was coming from the neighbors directly above Ryan and Meagan. What we didn't know was that it was 10 times louder in Jase's room. Poor little guy! John and Marissa live a few doors down from us and right next door the abnoxious neighbors. Marissa filled us on what she deals with on a daily basis. From what she said its a wonder that they ever get any sleep. She and others have reported lot of loud fighting, verbal and physical. Also we live in a non smoking building and the entire 2nd floor was filling with smoke. It was time to call the police. The party had just gotten to out of hand. You may wonder why we didn't simply knock on the door and ask them nicely to turn the music down. One of the people living in that apartment is a very large violent man. Best to let the men with weapons handle this one!!
Well, we waited for the cops and told them all the background (all night music blaring, domestic disputes). It got a bit rowdy after the cops left. We had to be clever getting back to the apartment. Party goers were leaving and we didn't want to be seen by anyone. That pretty much ended the festivities!! I think us girls got a little rattled, but i must admit it was exciting. Not to mention in was the right thing to do. These people have been disturbing people for months. Hopefully the problem is solved, for the time being!!
I think its safe to say that a good time was had by all!! Thanks to our wonderful new friends! Thanks Guys!!

No more sittin' on the FLOOR!!!
FINALLY!!!! As most of you know, we have been slowly piecing our apartment together, as all broke newlyweds must do!! Well, this past week we were able to add two much needed pieces! I have had my eyes on this set for awhile. But, we decided awhile ago that we were not going to finance or use credit on things that we could pay for. There was no reason that we shouldn't be able to save the money! So, we buckled down and......TaDa!!! Its so nice and fits in perfectly. Also, having the furniture has inspired me to do a bit more much needed decorating!! I still have along way to go, but as you can see, I did finally hang a few things on the naked walls!! Will is quite the handy man!
These were wedding gifts from Jared and Kallie Foreman!! I love them....It was sweet of them to give me a little piece of Texas for our home! We had tons of fun together yesterday decorating. This place is really starting to feel like home. Thanks again to all of our friends and family that gave us gifts and gift cards so that we could have all of the beautiful things that we have. We couldn't have made it with out y'all!!

House Guest
OK, so Will leaves in the mornings before I get up. On Tuesday morning of this past week I was trying to get just a few extra minutes in and couldn't due to the fact that the my cell phone just simply wouldn't shut up. I finally gave in and picked up my phone to see what all the commotion was about. It was Will...of course! He was asking if a a new member of the coast guard could stay with us for a few days. He had just arrived and was in the process of buying a house but wouldn't be closing until Thursday. My first thought....Crap, the house in a mess, My second thought...Hello, you want total stranger staying in our home. However, Will assured me that our guest was not a psycho and that he would be sure that the house would be spotless prior to our guest's arrival. I'm thinking...sure you will. Well, 5 o'clock rolled around and i headed home....dreading what I might find. I was pleasantly surprised to walk in and find that the entire house was in fact clean AND he had started dinner. Well that was one promise kept. I was genuinely impressed. He had done a really great job.
Well....on to our guest. His name was Ben. He was really great. He is a duel citizen, of Britain and the US. He is married and has a two year old girl. We really enjoyed having in our home. We talked and watched movies. He was/is truly fascinating. Before he had come to stay with us he had been sleeping on the floor in the coast guard office. That's why Will felt so bad for him. On top of that, the poor man had to be away from his family. They were staying with family in Vermont. i was totally ashamed of myself for not really wanting to help at first. Will has the biggest heart he volunteers for everything. He taught me a lesson on service this week. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful man in my life. And, because of this experience we have new friends.

My 2009!
I have made some promises to myself for 2009. I'm refusing to use the word resolution. I think a promise insures more follow through. Anyway, I also thought that writing about them would help. So, lets begin. I promise to take better care of myself. That doesn't mean crash dieting to lose a few pounds and then gain it right back. I will not be a yo yo this year. I also promise to be better person. I want the people in my life to know what they mean to me. I'm done taking life for granted. I want live life with a positive attitude and make a difference where I can! I'm going to write more letters and email and text less. I want to become more familiar with the scriptures and words from our present day Prophets. I want to really talk to my Heavenly Father often. I want to take time to apprieciate all that I have been given. Whine less and be happy with the wonderful life I have. Ok. Now that its out there i must follow through! No turning back now!!!

It's a Brand New Year!!
We bundled up and headed downtown for Boston's First Night Celebration. We were sooooo excited! Boston Commons was beautiful...lights in the trees, ice sculptures, and plenty of snow! Unfortunately, it was also like -20 degrees and gusting wind at about 40 miles per hour! I would love to tell you that we tuffed it out and kissed in the Commons at mid-night. The true story....we had our first smooch of 2009 in our PJs!!!! It was still a great night!!!
Merry Christmas
Our first Christmas was so perfect! I must say, I was worried about being a from home for the holidays. However, we were blessed to have some special new friends to share them with. It was a white Christmas, which was definitely a treat for me(oddly enough I didn't see much snow in Texas)!
We picked the coldest day EVER to roam around Massachusetts in search of the perfect tree! I do believe we were successful. Then after several more hours of dragging Will around I found all the decorations that I needed to create the MASTERPIECE that you now see before you!!
